Packed up and left Cranberry Campground to cruise down the Northumberland Shore 15 miles to the first restaurant in Sutherlands River for breakfast. Afterwards I went through New Glasgow, where I had stayed (it seems like ages ago) on my way out to Cape Breton Island. Then a rural route, staying off of the main highway, all the way around to Pictou. I caught a little bit of a rail trail just before town.
Pictou is very pleasant with a harbor and a lot of old buildings with a deep Scottish history. I found a good motel (Dolan's) and a very good restaurant (Sharon's) for dinner and breakfast the next morning.
