QUEBEC - DAY 89 - AUG 30

There ought to be a law.....about maximum grade allowed on a major road. I've been on the main road going around the Gaspe Peninsula, and although not a freeway, it's an important road. Some of the grades on the north side are crazy steep, at least 13 to 15%. I've seen some tandem trucks really struggling, not to mention overloaded bicycle tourists. Enough complaining because I think I'm through the worst of it.

The day started gray, but quickly turned nice except for the constant 10 to 15 mph headwind. This is half of some of the winds I got in Iceland. This may seem non-intuitive, but I rather be in a strong headwind on big hills than on the flats. This is psychological, and most bicycle riders can relate.

The big hills helped make for some great views. Most of the second half of the ride hovers right along the coast and is flat. I made it to Mont-Louis and called it a day at a small hotel with a restaurant. I wonder if anyone can identify the brown-headed birds?
