NOVA SCOTIA - DAY 67 - AUG 8

After a late check out and breakfast in Port Hawkesbury, I went through Port Hastings and across the Canso Causeway and west on the Trans Canada Highway 104. Not quite retracing my steps of 11 days ago, because then I was on route 4, a more rural road with maybe steeper hills.

This major highway has some impressive grades on it as well. I had a reservation in Antigonish at St. Francis Xavier University. All of the pictures except the last one are from the highway. You may recall, when I was there last time, the paralympic games were on and the university was buzzing with activity. That last picture that looks like a typical university building where I am staying is actually a hotel, with nice rooms like you'd find in any good motel.

After checking in, I learned that there is a dining hall on campus open to students and the public and not far away. Needless to say, I was excited when I heard it was an all you can eat style buffet. Maybe Canadians are healthier than those of us from the USA, because in my almost 4 weeks here, I noticed that portion size in most restaurants is smaller than what we get in the states. Or it could be that on a bicycle tour, you get very very hungry.

In any case, the food lived up to my expectations, and to such an extent that I am staying over here for another night.
