NOVA SCOTIA - DAY 51 - JULY 23

Although hot and humid again, I did have a tailwind and made good time hugging the coast and going from the Acadian Shores into the beginning of the Bay of Fundy and Annapolis Valley area. There were many small, but pleasant little towns along the way like Port Maitland, Metaghan, and the most interesting I thought was Church Point. The landscape was relatively flat, even the trees weren't that tall, so when you first come upon these gargantuan churches, you immediately take notice. I was impressed. You can read a bit about the one from the picture I took of a placard.

You can look across St. Mary's Bay to a very long narrow peninsula that parallels the coast. The coastal road joins the less interesting main road 101 after Weymouth and gets a little hilly before getting to Digby. This is another cute port town known for  scallops which I had for dinner and actually had a room above the restaurant. There is a ferry nearby that goes to Saint John, New Brunswick.
